CoArtRe es una compañía de teatro inclusiva y ciudadana con más de veinte años de trayectoria. Surge con la finalidad de fortalecer el trabajo artístico al interior de los centros penales, que su fundadora, Jacqueline Roumeau, venía realizando desde 1998. Producto de esta experiencia pionera, se han realizado obras de teatro bajo un modelo propio denominado Teatro Carcelario Testimonial: “Pabellón 2 – Rematadas”, “Colina 1, Tierra de Nadie”, “Sangre, Cuchillo y Velorio”, “Torre 5”, entre otras, interpretadas por hombres y mujeres que hoy se encuentran en libertad y reinsertados en la sociedad.
CoArtRe busca que las personas vulneradas por una sociedad poco inclusiva: jóvenes, inmigrantes, comunidad LGTBYQ+, pueblos originarios y ex internos, vivan un profundo proceso de sanación a través de una experiencia artística, reconociendo en el teatro una poderosa herramienta de transformación social y de esa forma ser un aporte a una nueva visión de mundo.
En diciembre pasado CoArtRe fue beneficiado por el concurso DIRAC para viajar a París, Francia, a mostrar su obra “Nosotras, Las Monstruas”, en el Theatre del Opprime, del 5 al 9 de abril de 2023.
El mencionado montaje está compuesto por un elenco multicultural de chilenos, venezolanos y peruanos, que se identifican con la comunidad LGTBYQ+. Este reconocimiento sólo beneficia a los 4 pasajes de 8 que se necesitan en total, por tanto, para poder viajar es necesario costear el pasaje aéreo de todo el elenco teatral, celebrado por la crítica y el público durante 2022, y que es reflejo de la sociedad que anhelamos; digna, solidaria e inclusiva.
Esta es una excelente oportunidad, para que demuestres tu visión de mundo, para que con tu aporte digas, fuerte y claro, la sociedad que deseas. Estamos orgullosos de este trabajo con minorías y disidencias, y de poder viajar a la ciudad de las luces a dar a conocer nuestro mensaje de interculturalidad e inclusión, un desafío que juntos podemos enfrentar. CoArtRe is an inclusive and community theater company with more than twenty years of experience that arose with the aim of strengthening the artistic work inside prisons, which its founder, Jacqueline Roumeau, had been doing since 1998. As a result of this pioneering experience, we have produced plays under our own model called Testimonial Prison Theater: “Pabellón 2 – Rematadas”, “Colina 1, Tierra de Nadie”, “Sangre, Cuchillo y Velorio”, “Torre 5”, among others, performed by men and women who are now released and reintegrated into society.
We seek that people violated by a non-inclusive society: young people, immigrants, LGTBYQ+ community, native peoples and former inmates, live a deep healing process through an artistic experience, recognizing in theater a powerful tool for social transformation and thus be a contribution to a new vision of the world.
Last December we were awarded with the “Concurso DIRAC 2023 – Línea Artistas” (DIRAC 2023 Funding for Artists) from Chile’s Cultural Affairs Division, to perform five shows at the Théatre de l’Opprimé in Paris from April 5 to 9, 2023.
The aforementioned play is composed of a multicultural cast of Chileans, Venezuelans and Peruvians, who identify with the LGTBYQ+ community. This benefit only covers the purchase of four airline tickets out of the eight that we need in total. Therefore, in order to be able to travel, we need to pay for the airfare of this entire cast, celebrated by the critics and the public during 2022 and which is a reflection of the society we long for; dignified, supportive and inclusive.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your vision of the world, so that with your contribution you can say, loud and clear, the society you want. We are proud of our work with minorities and dissidences and to travel to the City of Light to make known our message of interculturalism and inclusion is a challenge that together we can face.
